Ill be happy once that list is done, but as we all know it wont be ending there. I already have more to add to the list, but ill wait until it gets a bit smaller first.

There are a few bodges around the car, but nothing that cant be rectified pretty easily.

As for the parts, everything apart from the service kit has been ordered. The reason i havent ordered the service items yet is because i am getting confused with what to order, what with all the different revisions, and different info from different sources.

But yes either way its going to be a busy week

OK i just popped down to halfrauds to pick up some supplies.

Altenator belt
Oil filter
1 can Black smooth hammerite
1l dot 5.1 brake fluid
17mm Alloy wheel socket

This came to £28.32 with my trade club card. Full price this should have come to £43.45. Got to love the trade card! Shows how much markup halfrauds put on their items, i mean the brake fluid should have been 11.99, but i paid 5.21 :tongue_smilie:

toxo Let me know if I can help

Well the thing i am confused about is the dizzy cap and leads. I normally prefer to get decent leads, i.e magnecor or splitfire, which have a lifetime warrenty on them. Now most i see listed are for 3s-gte applications. Would these be compatible with mine? If so am i looking for a specific dizzy cap or are they all the same post '93?

Magnecor don't make a set of leads for the 3S engine that don't pop off during use Smile They are a LOT cheaper than Toyota's leads though, even I can only get genuine leads for £100 inc VAT (and the plastic tray they sit in).

Dizzy caps & rotor arms are the same n/a to turbo, the only difference is that they changed size part way through the rev2 production run. Don't know if that's the case with leads but I would assume so (the only thing that changes is the connector size and if the dizzy cap is the same then the connectors must be the same).

I have ssen that they changed from 5mm to 7mm sometime around '92, so i guess as long as i get one from post '93 i should be ok. So avoid the magnecors then. I might go with the splitfire ones then. They say they are for post '93 3s-gte, so they should be ok, if not i can always sell them on.

Edit: seems like i was wrong they are 92-93, which confuses me even more, i htought there were only two types, Rev1/2 and rev3+

You'll want new screws for the rotor arm and new bolts for the dizzy cap too :thumbup1: If you buy genuine they usually come with them but worth checking.

Am i going to be looking at extortionate prices for a genuine dizzy cap and rotor arm?

Depends what you class as extortionate really. Off the top of my head I think the rotor arm was about a tenner and the dizzy cap about £30. Considering they probably cost less than 10p to make that counts as extortionate. Turbo engine chews through them in about 5000 miles too!
