Nissan Sunny ZX Coupe
Nissan Sunny ZX Coupe
Today I did some more work to the car, during the week I made new parcel shelves out of the ones that came with the car and the ones I got from the breaker.
I also started the work for amping the front speakers. I've got some 165mm Infinity speakers for the front doors, but getting speaker cable to them is no mean feat! I've now got the cable to the driver's door but I need some MDF rings for the speaker to clear the window. They are quite a lot deeper than the cardboard Clarion speakers that came out...
I am still well impressed at the build quality and the design of this car. I keep finding little touches that I've not seen on other cars (even the LS400) like cable management channels in the cabin for the looms to sit in, and the speakers in the doors have a waterproof cup they sit in, all sealed to the door with stuff like dynamat.
With the parcel shelf refurb work and a few other bits and pieces I've done I have now totally eliminated all the rattles from the interior. It's nice driving a car with no rattles... haven't done that in a long time.
I still haven't looked at the timing belt or clutch, they still need doing but I'm concentrating on the RX7. Once the V8 is off the stand I will think about giving the Nissan's engine a once-over.
Broke a piece of trim though
How badly broken is the bit of trim hopefully nothing to serious
They defiantly don't make them like that anymore although saying that the 350z has cable tray running from front to back was very handy to feed cables through using a draw wire was so easy lol
I stuck it back on and it hasn't fallen off yet. It's the little plastic triangle that goes on the inside of the door where the wing mirror handle sticks through. It's got a manual mirror on the driver's side at the moment because the electric one was knackered. Annoyingly I broke the same piece of trim on the electric one too! They are just brittle with age I think.
Now for sale.
