Cover for other cars
Cover for other cars
can anyone confirm something from a standard fully comp policy that allows the use of other vehicles with the other vehicle's owner's permission?
does the other car have to have valid insurance?
my fully comp policy allows me to drive other cars and I would be covered 3rd party, i've been told by 2 flux employees I can drive an UNinsured car but i'm still covered 3rd party
is it true or have i been given duff info, my policy doesn't state whether the other vehicles have to be covered by their owner
yep anpr will pick up the car as being uninsured and you will get done. It's quite frustrating when the you get duff info from people who you think are in the know. Reminds me of the time my Mum told me turbos were for making cars quieter when I was 10 lol.
technically though a turbo does make the engine quieter:lol:
But it has other benefits also.
From Admiral's terms and conditions:
1b Driving other cars
If you qualify under this section, cover is for the policyholder only and is Third Party only, while driving a private motor car within our territorial limits. Your current Certificate of Motor Insurance will say if you have this cover.
We will cover you for everything listed in clause 1a when you are driving any other car as long as:
your current Certificate of Motor Insurance says so
you hold a valid Driving Licence and are not disqualified
the other car is not owned by you, a rental car, nor hired to you under a hire purchase or leasing agreement
you have the owner’s permission to drive the car
there is a valid insurance policy in force for that car
you are not covered by any other insurance to drive it
you still have your car, and it has not been damaged beyond repair, stolen nor sold
