A little update, the measuring up for the stands has been done and we need final figures of attendees to divide the area fairly (meaning Subaru won't be putting their cars in a ring with a big space in the middle and other clubs' cars squashed in at the bottom this year)

So please anyone else who is attending get your name on the list so we can submit a figure, thanks

The Japan North site is being updated this week with final details...

The show is free to attend, as is entry for the public. It's always been this way during its 3 year history. All that is asked of those that attend is that they donate to the show's purpose which is to this year's four charities, which differ slightly from 2007 and 2008's:
  • Christie Hospital
  • Childline Northwest
  • Derian House
  • Butterflies

The raffle will be happening once again, with some rather impressive prizes. As with the previous two years, all proceeds generated from the show are given to the chosen charities.

Gord do you have any proof whatsoever of wrong doing which is directly connected to Japan North, other than your personal dislike of the show's main organiser? Some members are fully aware of what you think of him, but as far as I know it has never had anything to do with Japan North and you seem to be looking to connect the 2, which, for the show, would be a shame

if I had any suspicion that Japan North was a scam I would have absolutely nothing to do with it

Gord I wasn't sayin you specifically said it was a scam, apologies if I came across that way, I was just sayin I wouldn't be involved with it if I thought it was a scam goin off Dean's thoughts thats all, I was just too lazy to quote to seperate my last post :o

obviously I still don't know the details about what went on in the past, I just don't want it to be tied in with the show, but as you said he organises it so I understand if you have reason not to trust him then thats that

i'm glad you found the requirements cos I had no idea, beyond asking people to attend and actually marshalling on the day, I don't know about how the finances are managed, i'd like to think that the fees that traders pay to attend is enough to cover costs and that raffle proceeds and donations do actually all go to charity, (again I don't know what it costs to set up the event, nor do I know the fee that traders pay)

Fry-Up ....
The raffle will be happening once again, with some rather impressive prizes. As with the previous two years, all proceeds generated from the show are given to the chosen charities.

well the last thing I wanna do is mislead, and bring down the car scene

one of my previous posts as quoted states that all proceeds go to the charities but if the traders fees don't entirely cover the set up of the show, then I imagine its net proceeds that go to charity

again my apologies

Technically you were correct in the first place, "proceeds" would be taken to be net proceeds, i.e. not the full income for the show, but the income minus costs. I have no idea of the ins and outs of this, but I guess for any charity event you would certainly hope that the proceeds would be a significant proportion of the income of the show, and you would also hope for transparency, e.g. being able to find out afterwards how much is donated to each charity.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

o ok, I read that it can be taken as net proceeds or gross proceeds, just thought i'd be more specific incase anyone else read it back as I had Smile
as far as I know whatever is raised for charity will be split equally and I shall suggest to Jamie that the donation details are posted on the JapanNorth website
