DaveEdin  What's lbc?
Mostly I just listen to the radio, as I only own a couple of bought CDs, and for some reason I can't get CD-Rs to play at all in the standard headunit - it just claims there's a disc error and refuses to play them... I know some people manage this and some don't but have never really investigated why this is the case...

Hmmm, I gave up after trying Sony and TDK discs, might be worth another shot with someone elses I guess - Timmy, apologies for the off topic - I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread:
What difference do the settings make anyway? I know what bass is, but was never sure what mid and treble were (and am too lazy to Google it...)
its as it says mate, bass controls the low tones, mid the mid and yeap you got it treble is the high tones
Bass 5, mid 0/-1, treble 2/3
I'm guessing those with the bass on anything lower than 5 must be those with pre 01 stereos?
Isn't it strange how peoples listening quality varies so much, I find if you have the mid anything things less than +3 you loose a lot of speech and vocals

Forgot to add though (still no edit button?) that if I'm listening to classical music then the mid has to come back up or you lose half the sound.
