Anyone ever had braces with molar bands fitted? As I am getting braces tomorrow (absolutely pooping it, as i hate dentists so so much), And been reading about when you have little blue elastic rings called separators, you may need a molar band, what is a molar band? And what is getting a brace fitted like? Does it hurt whilst installing? How long do they take to install? Sorry guys, I hate dentists so much would rather not have it done to be honest. Sad

I had them when i was a kid, no mate doesn't hurt at all when they fit them, all they do is glue the bits to each tooth and then add the wire, they don't tighten them fully to begin with and you will probably have to go back soon after to have them tightened. Be warned though, about 3-5 hours later it will be painful when you bite, so soft foods only!! After a while you do just get used to them and don't know they are there.

And if you hate dentists, stick to the rules or you'll be back in that chair sooner rather than later, so fizzy drinks, chewy sweets, toffee etc are a no no!!
