Has anyone used the new Shell Fuelsave unleaded on here (thought I read it somewhere but forgotten who)? Thought I'd try it out so put it in my car this morning, and first impressions are pretty good.

Normally when I go from V Power to regular unleaded there is a noticeable drop in power and the engine sounds less refined. However with this fuel the power drop doesn't seem as big, and if anything the engine sounds quieter (which is odd :blinkSmile

Will update this with how many miles I get out of the tank to see whether it's better on consumption, currently averaging 24-25 mpg so a bit more would be nice Smile

I have used it but have not taken any comparison figures yet as i would be unfair to make a comment on fuel consumption as I am still playing with the power and performance of the 300, even with wide throttle openings on many drives I am still returning 26-29 mpg, infact slightly better than the 200 at 25-28, readings taken from the scan gauge. Why???

1990 Eunos Roadster in Mariner DU blue
Cobalt cat back, Decat pipe, 15in Red Rota GT3 alloys, Toyo tyres, Lowered on Coil overs, Red anti roll bars, 14degree timing mod, white dash kit, illuminated side marker lights,
Halo ring headlights, OEM windblocker, Bluetooth streaming HU, Blue leather handbrake and gear lever gaitor, Centre brake/tail light mod, Blue velour door cards, Polished cam cover, Polished front strut bar, 4xheadrest speakers, JDM floor mats, Suede semi dish steering wheel,

I think the difference is that with more power you don't use the throttle as much, I've noticed that when I drive the merc - you don't floor it as much as the power's there, in the IS200 I need to put my foot to the floor and kickdown a few gears to make enough progress Smile

I have!!!

The Prius gets on average 51mpg on Tesco fuel and 53mpg on Shell. Thats with my normal everyday drive so a fair comparison. On the way to JAE with a fully loaded car A/C and blowers on, stereo loud, all lights on etc it did 56mpg because of the slow moving traffic. Can't complain.

OK 2mpg isn't that much but as they say every little helps!!

Indecently the MR2 runs better on Tesco High Octane fuel then Shells or BP's.

Cool that's very interesting to know, I actually think 2mpg is quite an improvement although if I can go from 25 to 27mpg that's more of a difference than 51 to 53 Smile

I'll try a few tanks and see whether to stick with it or go back to V Power.
