Today it was Dimis workshop day Rolleyes . I went to mechanics garage and fitted the LSD and also the Tanabe rear bar and Cusco Type I bar.

First job was to remove my diff. As you can see from the pic we do not have problems with rust. The housing is like new. No rust at all.

The pic below shows the LSD diff. I removed as much rust as i could from the housing. Then i painted the housing to avoid further corrosion.

Once the LSD was prepared it was time to install it on the car. The mounting was very easy.

After it was turn to fit the Tanabe rear under brace.

Lastly we fitted the Cusco Type I bar. The installation was a bit tricky since i had already fitted the Ultra Racing bars. We had to make same adaptors in order to install both bars.

Here is a pic of everything fitted on the car:

Asi looking good mate. how is the car with the LSD on it?

I do not know yet mate. It started raining yesterday after the completion of the work. I will try it soon and tell you. The first observation was that i did not hear any noises so i presume that the lsd is in good working condition.

No actually it is not so stiff as you may think. I have taken for a ride many lexus owners and all of them have told me that car feels very good during driving, the steering is very responsive and the car is not nervous or difficult for every day driving. Also when the cars passes over bumps or pots you do not hear any noises and you do not jump from the seat.

Dimitri i see that you have fitted a Sports version LSD differential.

If that is the case then you must put in normal dif oil. NOT LSD oil.

That is what the manufacturer manual says...

Go to the online manual at: new car features -> Chassis -> Differential -> Helical Gear Type TORSEN LSD

This is a copy-paste from there:

"Ordinary differential oil must be used; do not use special LSD oil".

Also check at the Service Data Sheet. It says the same thing about the torsen type.

At my local Lexus service they also did use LSD oil but when i show them the toyota manual they began scratching their heads!
