Is anyone with TalkTalk Telecom Ltd, or any other alternative Broadband provider to BT? Getting a little tired of BT throttling my Broadband and was thinking of changing to another service. My local BT exchange has a maximum theoretical 7 Meg, although of course I'm on 20 Meg BT Broadband and I doubt if BT 'Infinity' will reach the outback of the South Cotswolds within my lifetime.

IS 200 Sport with a few mods, Standardish IS-F. The IS250 SE-L with a few mods has gone to a new home.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I am with Tiscali - they have been bought out by TalkTalk. Been with them for years and apart from one or 2 small problems at the beginning never had a complaint - although cust service is poor.

I don't care about download speeds, so if this is vital you are limited by the network not the billing company.

Yes, that's what I said, I'm paying for 'up to' 20 Meg but limited by the local BT exchange to 7 Meg max, but most of the time they throttle it back to a lot less until I complain (again). It's a continuous cycle of me complaining, BT checking the line etc. speed temporarily increasing, then dropping back until I complain again. Confusedneaky2:

Try Sky broadband, they never throttle line speeds and always aim to give you the highest poss speeds that your line is capable of. And they are very cheap

Worst out of the lot is BT, they are the biggest company but supply the poorest service and never listen to what the customer needs.
And the adverts with "Adam&Jo" makes me want to puke every time I see there sad faces

As long as it's not the Sky "Connect" package you get, it is very, very bad.

You have been warned ;-)

Sky Connect is the package offered when Sky can't provide their base, mid or max products in your area... just call them and ask for a DSL Check on your postcode - that'll tell you what packages Sky can offer..

DaveEdin Sky Connect is the package offered when Sky can't provide their base, mid or max products in your area

They only do "Everyday Lite" & "Unlimited" now and of course the Connect.

Check this out for info on your exchange

http://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker

Really can make a difference as there as so many things that can affect your speeds but distance from the exchange can be a big one.

Thanks for all the feedback. My son has Virgin at his house in Stafford and rates it, so may enquire what they have available here in the sticks.
