Thanks again for looking and taking an interest Big Grin

Small update...... (with rubbish camera phone pics!!)

Thanks to my mate Paul I now have a boot infill for my spare boot lid for the drag strip.
If you don't know what an infill is I'll explain..... when you remove the spoiler from a boot, the lid sits a couple of inches lower than the rear quarters, see the next picture which shows my spare boot lid minus an infill or spoiler..........

So, I started by rubbing down the boot lid and the infill, then sprayed them in primer grey.....then when that was dry I sprayed them both matt black Smile

I've stuck the bits together and they're drying, hopefully they'll seal nice and tight.

It's not a great job to be honest, I used too harsh a grade of sandpaper and cocked it up, but as I said, it's just to be used as a drag boot, not show and shine Smile

Yep, exactly, it's all a learning curve Smile I'll be back out in the garage tonight trying to improve it too Smile

What's next? Well, Sunday is the final round of the Pro street drag series (Shakespeare raceway), and so I'll run the car and then retire it for the season until next March/April.
In the meantime I'll be doing a few little projects, things that have been bugging me for a fair while, like....

1. making a removable water tray for the bonnet to stop misfires in wet weather!!!! :Chair:
2. remove sound deadening.
3. remove and polish all wheels
4. remove underseal and re-do after a bodged attempt by a cowboy company!!!
5. remove front bumper, fill holes where cannards were fitted.
6. remove and split headlights, clean insides and reseal.
7. respray off-white drivers front wing.
8. respray rear bumper where heat shield was fitted.
9. set-up coilovers for better stance.

...possibly loads more too!!!

17th of October 2010 - 5th round of the Pro street drag series - Shakespeare raceway

Ran 4 times today, got faster every run but was hampered by huge queues!!

Times were:

1st run - 12.11
2nd run - 12.04
3rd run - 11.901
4th run - 11.898

The Skyline performed faultlessly and I was pleased to finish the season with a healthy car and decent times Smile

Some pictures....
