right just flushed the system and the noise has gone but still occurs on full lock so will defo change the belts when im not working nights

Good man, how hard did you find it to do, and how much pas fluid did you get through.
Can be a bit messy tho if you rush it

Good man, how hard did you find it to do, and how much pas fluid did you get through.
Can be a bit messy tho if you rush it

Hi phil I used about 3ltrs of fluid to flush it through I used a cork to plug the hole but yeh must admit bit messy

Reminded me of being back on the challanger 2 tank if I'm honest with the smell of the old fluid

Defo need to change the belts where's the best place to buy them from

That's an excellent and detailed explanation on changing the PAS fluid Phil. I've done most things on cars in my life but I have never changed the power steering fluid and I must admit I wouldn't have a glue how to do it.

I think it would be a good idea if someone could transfer this to the Workshop how tos, unless you want to re-write it there:whistling:

For the belts I would recommend Gates belts there's a set on ebay at the mo http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEXUS-IS200-ALTERN..._565wt_828 good price too.

yeh might as well do the lot

at work so it wont let me see the link but i was just thinking of halfords as i have a trade card so might be chearper

ok braved the wheather today as the belts arrived at 7am used the walkthrough by wozza thanks mate on the search and did them all.

started up the car and hey presto the noise has gone well woth the £30 for all 3 belts
