Thanks Iano for the information. I think i have to look another route then. Maybe go for a Haltech version.

quick update:

nobody showed interest in the kit as a whole so i went back to drawing board :cursing: lol.

so decided to pull out the emanage and all the wiring and put back in my standard injectors to give me back my factory idle where my problem lied. and it did the car idles over perfect Big Grin so twas not the car but the lads who wired/mapped its fault!!

so originally i wanted to swap the turbo for supercharger and run stock so i did this of sorts :confused1: ha. i put in an FCD, fueling is helped with rising rate regulator and then lowered the boost put in an A/F gauge and away i went!!!

car driving perfect and A/F ratio perfect on idle/driving/boost. i have a good bit less power but for the mean time till i can save that will do me!!

ok, kind of an old thread, but still relevant and I just thought I'd put in my 2p's worth.

iano21 so decided to pull out the emanage and all the wiring and put back in my standard injectors to give me back my factory idle where my problem lied. and it did the car idles over perfect Big Grin so twas not the car but the lads who wired/mapped its fault!!

iano21 sorry didnt mean to be running them down cause they are a lot cheaper than the others. . but i have had a bad run in with it. and on my quest to get it right i have talked to alot of people who have had serious problems with their emanage aswell!!

but there is lots of people who are happy with theirs. . its all about luck lol

Given what you posted above, are you sure it's not down to getting someone who knows the emanage properly, i.e. who knows what they're doing, to work with it ?

I'm sure anyone can mess up an ECU that they're not that experienced with.

iano21 not speaking for them all but no matter who i talk to even the english mappers none of them recomend the emanage. its unreliable always has issues, you cant live map the car either so dearer to map and more annoying to put small changes on it!!

eh ? You can map the e-Manage Ultimate while driving down the road if you want, I've had a guy playing with it in my own car.

Any further news on how you're getting on ?

Gord He has/had e-manage ecu not the e-manage ultimate ecu, just normal e-manage don't like to handle bigger injectors, as Sam found out to his cost.

Goodness me, that explains a lot then. I'm not sure I was the only one assuming he was talking about an e-Manage Ultimate, given the application etc. Thanks for the info.

Perhaps it just goes to show that the people working on it didn't know what they were doing, otherwise they'd have said he needed an Ultimate and not a blue.

In his LOC thread which was linked to in the first posting, Ian said he had an e-Manage Ultimate. So that's probably where I (and others) got that from. If that's wrong then as I said, that explains an awful lot.

well lads,
it was an emanage ultimate i had not blue. .

they were in the dark with it cause a turbo is200 over here is unheard of but had full wiring diagrams of the ecu so if your good at what your at i dont see how the wiring should be an issue which it was for these lads!! if it was again i would of done it myself!

what i meant by live mapping is you can change the settings while on the go where as the ultimate you have to stop change the settings and upload it each time, its not real time!!

and i talked to noble about going over there to do the mapping and talked to ike a few times and neither were very impressed with the emanage. you cant fine tune the ultimate enough especially with bigger injectors to be 100% right, but can get it verly close. the is200 ecu is clever enough. .

now i know lots of lads have theres with ultimates going fine, but over here there not popular enough for the above reasons (all HKS, Power FC and haltech) and nobody over there could give me enough of a reassurance to spend about €1500 traviling over on an "ah we shud get it verly right"

im not running them down and have said that just i had a bad run in with mine and know lots of people who have along the way and was just sharing that lol. .

Well, I've been driving my car down the road, with a mapper sat next to me with his laptop plugged into my e-Manage Ultimate, with him changing the map as I'm driving along. Is that not what you mean ?

Are you sure you're not confusing this with swapping between two different maps (via the button on the front) ?
