Newbie asking what to do next :)
Hi guys,
I'm fairly new around these parts and pretty new to the whole Lex/Toy scene all together
6 months ago I bought an IS300 and It's been quite addictive (and farkin expensive) purchasing most of the parts for it from the USA. So far its had:
Brian Crower stage 2 cams
AEM cam gear
BC Racing Coilovers
K&N FIPK ver2 induction kit
Megan Racing downpipe
18" GT-R Alloys w/ Forged Alu Racing Bolts
Japspeed Catback Exhaust
Cusco Strut Braces
TOM's carbon fiber aerial
AAC carbon fiber radiator panel
GROM MP3 adapter
Lightweight engine bay bolts
TRD Gear Knob
Black emblems
Silvervision Bulbs
Grounding kit
TRD Valve caps :p
With a TTE Front Bumper & TTE rear valance on order.
The wifey has told me to put a lid on my spending for a while so I'm only allowed one more mod before she cuts up my debit card and changes the password on my paypal account. Should I go for:
- Carbon fiber (OEM style) bonnet. Reduces weight, should look good on a black car, removes the need for me to sort out stone chips.
- Hayward & Scott exhaust manifold. Should free up about 10-15BHP by removal of pre-cats and better design.
- Aluminium driveshaft. Unsure of BHP increase, but should reduce rotational mass a fair bit and improve throttle response
- Torque convertor mod. Increase stall speed to around 2800RPM. Won't increase BHP, but will improve launch (0-60) of car by reasonable amount.
I put engine conversion as a reply on the other side, didnt realise it was a 300.
what about a Turbo? or a charger?
Manifold was my first choice tbh. Either that or a CF hood so I dont have to get the stone chips done.
I will post some pics up soon. But as project logs go, this one is gonna be on hold for a while. I'd love to boost it, but I'd have to paint all the parts with invisible paint so the insurance company couldn't see them :p
Yeah, I would like a CF hood too, but if I was to get one, i'd want a boot to match. Then things start to get expensive! LOL!
Why not get the most expensive thing out the way, then when you get your credit cards back, you haven't got as much to spend!
I've only been driving 6 months (but don't go getting the impression I'm a kiddy), so from an insurance point of view an SC is totally out of the question for me right now
Here's a couple of pixx...not really got very many good ones yet.
