2tongues CCTV is admissible IF you have clear and well displayed signs saying you have CCTV operating in the vicinity of your house.
This way you are not breaching any public privacy or civil rights laws.
Ask your local community police officer for the details and then you are covered.
yip thats for buisness use private housing is diff(in scotland anyway) yip correct on the signs though but they must not be angled in such a way the film out with the boundry of the property(slightly outwith is normal but you cant have half you garden property not in the shot)

Dont get how CCTV cant be shown in court. Its the only piece of hard evidence SHOWING that somebody did it.... shows how wrong some laws can be.

Flats can have CCTV as part of the whole building, maybe worth pitching to whoever manages the building as to whether a system could be put in. My apartment building has CCTV all over it so I'm sure that must be legal

CCTV can be used in court as the local plod catch people via it all the time, it all voer the news all of the time and people are regularly brought to justice via it
infact there was a story the other day where a criminal got caught on google street view
personally i would lay in wait for them and resolve it myself
