Agreed on the banning, a footy match isnt the place, i dont think their really is a place for such social broadcasting

but then are we not verging on cancelling out free speech because we dont agree with it?

the muslim extremist only spread hatred which in my view should be banned and they should be deported to these countries of islam they love so much

unfortunately i can only gain views from media i watch

I watched recently a documentary on bravo company in afghanistan and they liberated a small town, they opened up their shops again and built the kids a playground

which sounds fine

but when the cameraman left bravo company and was talking to the locals they didnt even want the army there,

the only reason their shops were shut was because the army were fighting and it was safer to stay inside, they actually got along witht he taliban and felt safer having jsut them around

which to me speaks volume because these words didnt come from the media, they didnt come from the politicians who feed us the ****, they came from the people who live with this **** day in and day out

and the more and mroe doc's i watch on this the more prevelant it becomes that we were not welcome in the first place

what we seem to forget is were are modern western nations trying to efectively drag third world archaic nations into the 21st century and it isnt always going to be roses and wine

the most disturbing part of the bravo documentary was the transcript at the end telling how a young boy was found beheaded after the army had left ebcause he poitned them in the direction of the taliban

these people were fine in their ways before we arrived,

we rid a few taliban and rebuild a few things that we originally destroyed and things seem rosey

then after we leave the taliban come back in, turn it back to how it was, and punish those that helped the army

all seems a bit vicious circle and pointless to me

at the end of the day we are only there because of the oil, nothing more, nothing less

we convinced these countries governments that it wa sin their best interests and they have played ball

i cannot commend the troops efforts enough, but unfortunately my feeling is they have been used in a global game of chess

i agree with ur last point, and yes nine out of 10 locals wont want us there but would u want an army fighting the taliban on ur doorstep i know i wouldnt.

and yes we have given them a western approach but in iraq they used this only as an idea which they mixed in to there traditional views of land owners and tribe leaders, to build there own from.

see if only these people could do as we are doing now having a discusion about it in a normal polite manner.

last point in my view it wont be long untill more trouble arrives at our door from within our own country

exactly talking seems to be the key

but i think our fighting whilst the troops on the ground have the best of intentions, the politicians manouvering them have alteria motives and the radicals use this all to expand their network and fill more muslims with hatred for the west

I cannot help but wonder how left alone we would be as a nation if we just stayed out of it?

personally i think an army is for defence only and not attack

the only reason we got involved int he world wars was because we knew our own land would at some point come under attack

look at switzerland for example, they didnt have an army back then, they refused to get involved in the war and hitler left them completely alone!!! he invaded all the countries round them!!

i can only presume the same would to an extent happen with the uk if we left the muslim countries alone?

and totally agreed, the destruction is coming from within now, can you imagine if i went and carved up a pig outside a mosque in iraq or iran?

This whole topic saddens me greatly, I am shocked by anyone's inability to feel some compassion for our armed forces and their families. Whether you agree with the battles in which they engage is totally irrelevent, many of the soldiers may not agree with the specific battles themselves but they signed up to fight for our country, risking their lives for us and they do not control where they are sent or who they fight. It doesn't take a vast amount of imagination to contemplate how you would feel if your most loved friends or family stepped outside the door and were killed by a bus, this is a feeling these soldiers and their families and friends live, breathe and die with 24/7. This goes for our emergency services too for that matter.

The rights and wrongs of going to these wars indirectly lays blame on each adn every one of us. Our governments decide who we will ally with and this is an unavoidable necessity in the past, present and future.. and sadly once allies are made a degree of commitment is made. We elected our governemnts or we were too lazy/disinterested and didnt vote but lethargy is not an excuse... like it or not we as individuals are as responsible as the people we pass the buck to.

There will always be troublemakers/extremists etc in every country, on every topic; always has been and always will be while there's a human nature element attached to society. We seem to be happy to blame others and only too willing to stand back and act innocent but if you read our own history books, we are far from innocent ourselves and have so far had a lucky escape in that when were forcing ourselves on the rest of the world there wasn't the technology to destroy us from the other side of the planet at the push of a button.

This kind of crosses over into the Rev's post on are we better or worse off now for me because the less independent we make ourselves, the bigger our national debt, the more the rest of the world owns us the more likely it is that one day we will wake up to find we are completely, totally and utterly owned by one of these factions who have managed to acquire money illegally and use it to slowly and gradually take control of country after country.

Wake up and smell the coffee peoples, everyone wants to rule the world and the more grief we give our forces, the less brave men and women will be prepared to stand up and make it count

^^ Which exactly relates to my example of switzerland

it has never been involved in any wars as such, and as a result has been left relatively unscathed,

considering Hitler left it alone i think speaks volumes, especially as he knew the jews were flocking there to safety which was predominantly a big part of his war

they now have an extremely strong economy, one of the best health services, police services, regularly voted the country with the most freedom of speech and rights

i dont mean to bang on about it, but seriously was america the best country to ally with and follow given its history?

Vietnam? what the hell was that about?

in all seriousness it doesnt matter what government we elect, they are all a bunch of self fashioned morons,

i did not vote for any government because i disagree with so much of so many of their policies

Its about time the queen and aristochricy got off their arses, stopped being a tourist attraction and actually didnt something to turn this country around

You dont think maybe Switzerland is protected by it's tax and banking haven? If switzerland is destroyed the whole world is likely to collapse pretty quickly.. and maybe Hitler just chose his geography by the less mountainous and less icy first .. we have no idea what could have happened there, except it wouldnt have been good.. exactly the same applies now, the enemy is different, the technology is different, the game plan is different but the underlying reasons are eternal.

every documentary showed hitler never intended on touching switzerland

and although he was the most evil man alive he seemed to stick to his word

The queen has no political power any more.
The government that went to war with the USA was wrong to do so.
Burning poppy's is disgraceful.

I have lost friends and customers to this war on terror - wasted their lives imho, one young lad (19) was over the moon when he was shot (4 ribs broken) and was sent out again because it gave him a real reason to kill (his words), he was shot again within a couple of days, lost his life never did get revenge.......... WONDER WHAT HIS CHILDREN THINK???????? I bet they would prefer to have a dad but that won't be possible because some politician decided to go to war.

No war is justified, war is stupid, wasteful and against everything every religion teaches.
Where does it say: "You can kill if your told to do so as an act of war"??????????????

"Life's goal is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body. But, rather to skid in sideways........
totally worn out and broken, shouting 'Holy ****, WHAT A RIDE!'"
