jay_russell winter tyres are a must if you will use the is200 in the snow.... no joking. they are the only way to go

Group buy next year I think:Sulk: I am sure you can arrange one!!

I only got the cheapest Nankang Snow SV-2, £35 each, £10 fitting really is a no brainer decision and they will last probably 4 years - the Prius is super easy on tyres, the current ones have 16500miles on them and still have 4mm on the front and 4.5 on the rears, should get to 20000 with luck..

yer mate. i wonder if you comming to sweden was a big part to play in you going out and shopping winter tyres. i guess you must be glad you did as the extra grip you get from them is needed. i used cheaper ones last year and the way i drive i found under breaking that i was sliding but they were eurofrost type and no realy good in the nordic winter so thats why i changed

For the Prius their great, its not a fast car or RWD, I would think an IS200 would be fine on them, a lot of Merc. drivers in Germany use them - looking at their forums.

Can you get 18" winter tyres? Might get a set and just swap them on my normal wheels - storing a spare set of wheels is a pain but storing tyres is easy as you can just bag them and stick them in the loft Smile

the only thing with running such low profile tyres is the amount of tread you get. not much compared to 16"

They will last a few years. Mine were very cheap then!!
You could do just the drive wheels, and see how it goes but they don't recommend that really.

Yep using them say 4 months a year will last several years (as long as they don't decay over time) - does taking tyres on and off wheels do them any damage?
