I may be up for this.

If you wanted to go on the Tunnel rather than ferry I work for Eurotunnel and can get you 20% discount on your crossing :w00t:

Also my wife's sister works for Just Tickets so if I talk to her nicely she might be able to get us some discount there, but I'm not promising Wink

That sounds promising Dave. I can only go on the tunnel if I can be guaranteed that I'm downstairs, as my car doesn't go up the ramp!

Its not the ramp its the stupid speed bumps, they are those sharply raised rubber ones. No way would my MR2 get over them, as it was with Rabsters we removed one or two as we went over them!!!

Don't worry during the week of Le Mans we get a lot of very exotic and LOW cars coming through the Tunnel  It's quite a spectator sport for us just to watch some of the cars come through

You can ask when you are being loaded on that you go on the lower deck or when you book you could book as a high vehicle (over 1.85m) and go on the single deck (front half) of the shuttle.

I had a look at prices while at work today and going out on the 8th and coming back Monday 13th the normal price is £90 but with your 20% off it would be £72.
That's the price now but the way our pricing works the closer it gets to the date the more it costs so you need to make your mind up and get booked early enough.

You may of course find that the ferry's are still cheaper even with the discount.

Just had a look on the ferry's and your looking at £100 with both P&O and Seafrance (if you opt not to pay the £2 voluntary contribution to the Marine Conservation Society :whistlingSmile and that's based on travelling at peak times not some silly hour of the night.
