hi i know its able to weld a open diff but what about the lsd on an is200?? is it the right type? im not to sure but from what ive heard ones with plates you cant but im not to up on whats what.. any info would be cool cheers

It hasn't got plates, it's a Torsen type, with planetary gears.

Check the diagrams at http://bahamutcars.free.fr/workshop/IS_9...h_0098.pdf

So I don't see why you shouldn't be able to weld it.

I presume you realise this'll make it horrible to drive on the road. Good for drifting though :biggrin:

It hasn't got plates, it's a Torsen type, with planetary gears.

So I don't see why you shouldn't be able to weld it.

I presume you realise this'll make it horrible to drive on the road. Good for drifting though :biggrin:

Good point well made. Don't weld up a LSD they are worth a few £'s, all the ratios are the same, so long as the open diff is from a manual. Stick an auto one in if you want greater acceleration but at a loss of top end and higher fuel usage.

ill be fine with the parking... and unless i can get a cheap as hell open diff then i may weld it up... there one in my local breakers but i dont think they will put it on its roof for me... but i can find out.. and yeah its to skid on not to worried about parking... cheers for the replys

buy a normal one, you can get them cheap and you dont need the car on its roof just gt yourself under it and take it off.

seriously the diffs can go for a few ££

Yeah i know just they have one already stacked up onto of it.. But infant them and they want a tonne for it and all the ones on the bay are 150 but managed to find one for 60 so should be getting that and then getting it welded, so Youl all be pleased to hear the LSD will be safe hah.
