Jesus H Christ i wish people would take the time to google this stuff and get their facts right

all week in work the debate as raged, and i see it everywhere on the forums,

Now i see a commenter on a news story about the weather on The Suns website going all off at the health and safety nazi's and how its illegal, you will be sued

its all utter rubbish as this link proves........http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Nl1/Newsroom/DG_191868

so long as you dont make it worse you can do as you please,

infact the only thing it tells you not to do is use water to clear snow/ice as it can cause black ice, thus increasing the problem

everything else from shovelling to salting is fair game

rant over

What exactly is the argument? That you're not supposed to clear paths?

yeah pretty much,

everytime someone either mentions they cleared a path, or ask "why dont you do it yourself if the council havent"

the debate roars about being sued, and its apparently illegal and all this and that

it wound me up so before interjecting i read up on it,

wiped the smug smiles off many a face in my office, muhahahaha

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, why would it be illegal to clear snow?

Lol the looks on their faces must have been priceless!

when i was in canada every peice of path is concrete and about 8 x 8 ft and has to be marked with the company that has laid it. if when the clear the snow etc from it and someone falls or trips because of bad workmanship it's the company that gets sued.

parthiban That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, why would it be illegal to clear snow?

It was another one of these made-up health & safety stories - i.e. if you try and clear snow but someone slips and injures themselves because you didn't do it properly, they can sue you. 100% untrue unless you do something stupid (e.g. use boiling water to clear snow and it then just re-freezes as black ice).

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Where has common sense gone in this country????

"Life's goal is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body. But, rather to skid in sideways........
totally worn out and broken, shouting 'Holy ****, WHAT A RIDE!'"
