jay_russell no mate. it's the sun that does the damage. also if there is a lot of salt then a wash before you bag them wont hurt. mounting them year after year wont damage them. but winter tyres only last for about 4 years before the rubber gets hard. then you have the same problem as driving with summer tyres. and if you drive with them when it's warm then the rubber will go as fast as you drive. these are ment for cold only

Cheers for that, £800 every 4 years is a substantial sum but if these winters become regular and stay persistently cold does make it worth thinking about.

well you have to think about it like this. 800 is for the best and you could get them for half that price. 2 you will not be using up you summer tyres as fast as if you had them all year round so they will also last longer. 3 if this is your main drive then yes they are worth it if you have any cold weather, even ice and cold snaps in the weather. here in sweden it's a must but looking at how the weather is in the uk then i would say it's a must there to

jsj24uk Gutted for you James. Hope it all gets sorted soon. I'd be very surprised if it does get written off.

I don't know. All that time Moley spend polishing your boot at JAE as wel lol.

Least I didn't crash backwards mate! LOL! The front end needed attention anyway. Fingers crossed till tuesday when it gets picked up.

Thanks again everyone, will keep you all updated.
