new mot rules
I dislike what there saying about lining up with eu. I'd hate to have tuv like Germany. Or the strictness on mods like Scandinavia.
The first lagunas didn't have self level I worked for them for eight years..also the first ever clios with hids didn't have self level either but they both had washers Clio came with projectors were the laguna didn't.also the is le doesn't have self level I motd one last week..
See link below, especially point No2.2
http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/roadsafety/drs/hidheadlamps
Under the Road Traffic Act 1988 it is an offence to supply, fit or use vehicle parts which are not legal.
Pleae dont think I am being argumentative, I have just been following the rules that are laid out by the DOT.
However new vehicles have HID headlamps. This is because they comply to European type approval Regulations. The UK cannot refuse to register a vehicle with a European type approval. These are to ECE Regulation 98 (for the HID headlamps which are tested on a rig in a laboratory) and ECE Regulation 48 (Lighting Installation on the vehicle).
See in above not all cars conform to the rulings it depends on the reg
Some are tested in a lab on a rig
Some are tested fitted to a car
Also with hid lamps it says it must have washers and self level here's a thing yes the is has washers bit no self level but mot rules state if it's not their you can't fail it..ie if you have a frayed seat belt tuck it away and fold the seat up then we can't test it so it's a pass..
Also construction and use differs from the mot..something which could get you fined might pass a mot..
The is300 does it has two sensors one on the front and one on the rear...
The is200 le has none
