Took a trip to powerflow in aylesbury today to ask about the manifold. And long story short, he said he didn't want to do it. Not that it couldn't be done, just that he wasn't happy with either method suggested.

So back on the hunt for a decat now.

Stainless steel one would be nice, but very hard to come by.

I found THIS the other day, no idea about quality/cost, or even how to buy one though.

How much does decatting affect exhaust emissions? Do you have to replace the main cat with a better one?

I'm sure it was Ormi that said the main cat on its own should be enough to get through a UK emissions test, even without the pre cats. But I guess that depends on the quality/age of the main cat, and how clean running your engine is to begin with.

I've heard the standard pre cats are very restrictive, so taking them out should free up the exhaust air flow.

No it's nothing to do with being restrictive they can brake up/melt due to the extra heat...
My car sails through it's emissions with no pre cats it even sails through when it's not up to temp......
Posty try a diff exhaust builder maker the place you tryd was ****...try a diff place it shouldn't take them long.....

Aah well that simplifies things then, I won't bother if it's not necessary unless I fit a charger.
