HTC Wildfire
HTC Wildfire
My main question is at the end of the post,
I have a Nokia N97 which i've had for about 18 months, I'd heard all the stories about dodgy software, but I like it and put the effort into finding out how to make it run efficiently (as efficiently as a Nokia smart phone can be anyway) and so with periodic software update checks, gettin rid of temp files and storing stuff where its best to store, it hasn't let me down, but it is slow sometimes and does test my patience from time to time, now the mention of the N97 is relative to the features I want from its replacement, I use the Sat Nav, I use the Camera, Email, Internet, I use various apps but obviously Android I imagine will more than cater for everything I have on the N97, but the point here is the N97 has done everything i've needed from it, just now its slow, bulky and a little dated
now the Wildfire seems to tick all the boxes (minus the physical keypad which I think I can live without), an important one being the price, it will be bought sim free to use with my existing Contract Sim
it may be worth mentioning I work in a phone shop, we don't do the Wildfire yet, and we don't do Sim free either, I know a fair bit about the Galaxy S, the Desire, the Desire HD etc, but since my knowledge on the wildfire is only what i've read, does anyone have one that they can give a little more insight into
the main question is, given the huge price difference between a Wildfire and a Desire Z for example, what makes the likes of the Desire Z/HD/Galaxy S worth so much more than the Wildfire
I know some features like 8mp camera with dual flash are an obvious difference in some cases, but th Wildfire seems more than adequate....
any opinions welcome

Seams the Desire HD has better processor, more ram, better screen, better downloading / uploading capabilities over 3g etc ? Is this the answer you was looking for ?
Lexusboy I like the desire z its a lovely phone and is a improvement on the first desire purely because the battery last so much longer, as this is the Achilles heel of the first Desire.
Sorry don't know anything about the wildfire

The wildfire is also known as the desire mini - it was supposed to be a cheaper, less powerful, smaller desire.
All depends on what you want. The wildfire is a decent budget alternative, the desire is a good compromise between size and spec, and the desire hd is the top of the line model that covers everything but is quite large.
If the wildfire looks like all you need, there's no need to go for anything else.
