Can you tow a rear wheel drive vehicle on a 2 wheel dolly like the type the RAC and AA have ?

can you tow a vehcile with an AUTo Box the same way as above ?

I think you have to tow a RWD car the other way round, with the front wheels on the ground. Again it's the same situation with an auto, the drive wheels shouldn't be on the ground.

Best to get a flatbed though if you can.

If you drop the prop, or remove the drive shafts then you can tow an auto on the drven wheels - easier to flat bed it.

ormi A manual rwd is ok to tow with the rear wheels on the ground.

Unless it's an MR2 - the pump gear that circulates the transmission oil around the gearbox and through the little cooler loop is attached to the input shaft not the output / diff. So when you have the rear wheels going round on the road and it's not in gear, the oil is never circulated around the box and it boils.

A awful lot of auto cars can be towed with a max of 30mph and a max distance of 30 miles
so yes you can tow autos but check in owners handbook first
The only exceptions which are a definite "no no" is the Toyota Prius and any type of Black Cab Taxi with auto box.
Andy just tell me what car you need to tow and I can tell you the limitations
