Problem with the lex??
Problem with the lex??
Just been out in my lex and it died, lost power in 1st 2nd and 3rd, pulled over for a few mins to let it warm up a bit, and it then drove like a rocket, hit 0.4bar on the gauge a few times and the SSQV went very loud? feels like fuel starvation at first when cold? but drives fine when warm? any ideas??
I know Edeath said he had the same problem with his but a new fuel pump sorted it out? i do have a spare standard pump in the shed so might swap it over to see if it does anything? plus i'm going to order a new walbro 255lph pump in the next few days/weeks?
Isn't there a fuelling problem fault code though? And a misfire code, depending on which cyl.?
Yes mate, but its still running? its as if when you put your foot down its getting lots of air but not the fuel to fire in the cylinders? had the same feeling on one of my older motors in the past and found it to be running lean?
The problem I had with my charger was between 2500-3000rpm it would lose power slightly and then kick back in again. It was worst when cold and almost went away when warm but I could catch it out on purpose if I want to by flooring it at 2600rpm. I problem felt exactly like the traction control was kicking in so had to be injector/fuel related.
It was diagnosed as a fuelling problem by SPC and they installed a 225 pump in the car (I wish I knew the brand as it only cost £100) and this sorted the problem out. However the problem came back as soon as I installed the exhuast manifold so I'm not sure a new pump is the definitive answer. Also the current owner of my SC kit had the same problem when he fitted it to his car.
That would make sense as a Walbro Supra pump is about £100.
