now these do look hot, however this does now mean you need to have the tire taken off to have them fitted right ?

Double check you can use the pressure monitor with low profiles, as well as flush valves :confused1: I do know that a friend of mine with an MR2 Turbo bought a monitor of e bay, possibly a cheapie, but.. he then found he could not use it on his low profile tyres Sad

nope mate you dont...you burst the tyre off the beed then push down on the sidewall which gives you enough room to fit the valves......

Marsdendean I know the rev had problems with his GS tyre sensors as he was running bigger and lower profile wheels . . .

That will have been a combination of things, TPMS generally has a pickup antenna somewhere in the car near the centre of the wheel and larger wheels can move the sender further away from the antenna. Plus some of the first generation sensors are quite large and you'd get fitment issues with low profile tyres. Newer ones tend to be inductive/passive so they don't need bulky batteries etc fitted to them.

I would love to have flushfit valves on my alloys but they won't fit Sad And as for losing the adaptor, just keep it with your locking wheelnut key... same deal, if you lose it you're screwed!

Well i cant think of a more perfect reason to treat yourself to a new set of rims Big Grin

thats what im going to do, keep one with the locking nut as a spare and one in the side pocket to use when checking he tyre pressures!

Thats exactly what I do with mine.. It cost me £3 for an extra valve adapter. And from my experience, the only time I have ever lost the locking nut was when a garage used it and never put it back:ohmy:
