Well as its been said in the "car of the month" thread my car had some smoke coming from it on Sunday so heres why.

When i pulled up after a long journey some smoke was coming from the engine, upon opening the engine it was found coming from the turbo blanket, when that was removed the smoke went with it lol.

I had a look today properly with the car running and discovered some weeping on the top turbo oil feed.

you can see the arrow in the pic.
speaking to Steve at Silverline, as usual he was extremely helpful and told me i can undo the fitting and trim it back then reseal it. So i will do that at the weekend.
So i think under pressure of high revs some oil has seeped out and got on the blanket hence the smoke - hot oil (100C) onto extremely hot turbo (more than 100C) equals smoke.

The squeaking is the power steering pump, but ive got one to replace it with that i bought and refurbed myself with new seals and a good clean.

Will put some pics up of making the fitting up as its something that could help members when they venture into Turbo country lol.

I take it you know the tricks for cutting braided hose, i.e. put tape around the bit you're cutting so that the ends don't fray etc.

At least it's an easy fix!
