After wrapping lexy round a lampost i need a new rear door,

I've found one for £150 which is fine,

But every bodyshop wants to blend the rear quarter and front doors for the best paint match, which i couldnt care less about!!!! i just want it damnw ell painting in midnight blue, im sure it cant end up being that far out because its a dark colour!!!!

god its making me angry, £380+ jsut to spray a door

Take the door in by itself then and get it painted separately to the car - thats what I did with the IS200 boot, and it turned out fine.

What they are doing is covering themselves on the off chance you decide the match is well off - standard body-shop practice.

I know, but now i cant trust them to do it right the first time, as the sceptic in me see's themt aking the opportunity of doing it so wrong they ahve to respray and double charge me

to be honest mate paint blending is nearly a must especialy with the new water based system , no decent painter will want too do a bad color match as there name is there liverlyhood, never had a job done at work without pannel blending and would not use anybody that wanted too just do one panel, hope this helps matey

Could you not take in something removable (yet painted) like your fuel cap and ask them to colour match to that?
