HTC Incredible S
HTC Incredible S
Im picking one of these up on Tuesday after months of hunting for the right phone
Im completely against an iphone as the format wont change anytime soon and releasing a new version every year is ticking me.
So my questions are to you phone addicts
How would i ebst optimize the android system, where would i find neat tricks and tips for htc phones etc?
Im not looking to crack or hack it, cant be bothered, but if theres things i can download that i wouldnt necessary knowabout and change things like clocks etc etc then it would be much appreciated
I didn't actually know these were out, let us know what it's like when you get it - what made you switch to android in the end?
XDA-developers is the best place for anything phone related
erm mixture of things, primarily the fact my iphone is about dead
Samsungs dont excite me,
Motorola Atrix looked sweet, but reviews arent up to much, plus its not released over here for ages
HTC seemd the way to go, looking over various reviews and it was between the Desire HD and the Incredible S, Incredible S won on battery size/life as everything else bar screen size is the same pretty much.
Bored of the apple format, having to jailbreak to customize it etc.
Just been on XDA and nothing on their for customization tips really, Im after things like batter percentage on the homescreen and stuff like that really
Battery percentage is pretty easy, just type battery into the android market and there's a ton of apps that'll give you either a widget on the homescreen, or the percentage in the bar at the top of the screen
Right.
Icurrently have an Iphone 3G. Its on a £15 a month SIM only contract with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB Data useage per month.
In Phones 4 U they had a HTC Desire and HTC Wildfire for £15.23 a month, however it mentiones a "Standard Tarriff" for O2. I then checked the O2 website for these phones and could only find them at around £25. (It was also free phone).
The only thing missing is that there is no data useage, but selling my iphone (or getting a HTC on contract and using the Sim for my iphone) and selling that on would make me a bit of money...
Problem with Wildfire or Desire is that its not the HD version, + I don't know if data useage is on it, which is a necessity with any smart phone.
Carpediem: I have the 3G and currently bored. The only good points are that its easy to use, long battery life when I have the brightness down, and I don't need to buy an ipod/mp3 player. However I'm guessing HTC now have that ability?
I've jailbroken it, but the phone is quite slow and its a pain not being able to update it until a new version of the jailbreak comes out
Jambo However I'm guessing HTC now have that ability?

I was going to say my wife's 10 year old Samsung clamshell phone has an MP3 player, way before an "iPhone" was ever thought of.
My old Sony Walkman w810 from about half a decade back had decent layout, playlists...
See, the trouble with Apple is they want everyone to think they invented everything. And people seem to just go with it for some odd reason...
