Bought this a few months ago to eeek every last bit of HP out of the N/A IS300 engine. But now as I'm going the S/C route which comes with its own piggyback controller so this is surplus to requirements.
  • If you've got an IS300 and live local, I'll help you install this.
  • If you've got an IS200, live local and can get the ECU pinout diagram, I'll help you install this.
  • If you've got an IS300 but live far away, I'll give you all my instructions and notes for installing it (its very easy).
  • If you've got an IS200 but live far away, I'll try and help my best.

It cost £300 new, will let it go for £200 just so I can put the money towards a wideband.

Original box, instructions and wiring loom included.

I'm interested. Does it require mapping or a mechanic to set it up once installed?

You can go and get it dyno tuned for the best results, however I'm using some conservative 'known safe' settings to lean out the fuel 5-7% across the rpm range.

Once you've got it hooked up there really is nothing more to it. Takes all of 5 mins to work your way around.

Ok, so a pro can set it up on a dyno, like a unichip? But it's got functionality to do a bit of basic tuning yourself?

Defo interested, I'm off on holiday tomorrow for a week, so if it's still here when I get back i'll have it off you. Smile

Yep that's basically the long and short of it.

From what I've heard, the IS's tend to run quite rich so you can safely lean out by about 5-7% around the middle of the RPM range (2000-5000rpm) and 1-3% elsewhere. Obviously if you have an intake/exhaust you can also make better use of those too.

Then if you want to go a step further, you could get it pro tuned - or - grab yourself a wideband with logging capabilities and then look at where you are still running rich. On the IS300 some people have been able to lean out by 12% at certain points.

I'm in no massive hurry to shift it yet. So long as its sold by the time my supercharger arrives I've no problems with keeping it aside.

If you're 100% sure you want it, and your holiday isn't in Las Vegas (where you might gamble away all your money). Then I'm happy to hold it on your word mate.

Nope, not going to Las Vegas! I don't gamble anyway mate. Just a nice family holiday. :-)
How much work is involved in the fitting? Would I need an auto electrician to wire it up?

It took me about 3 hours, and I'm by no means competent in auto electrics.

The hardest part is routing the wires really. You will need a metal coat hanger to help you pull them through the rubber grommit on the firewall and then make a hole in the split loom that goes into your ECU box. Then its just a matter of soldering a few wires - or using posi-taps like I did.

If you like I can take some pictures when I remove it, just so you've got something to refer to.

That would be spot on. Does it just connect to certain wires on the ecu? And does it come with a loom or wires long enough to reach the ecu? Lol, and how many wires are there to connect?
