FS: Apexi Neo AFC (piggyback)
Bought this a few months ago to eeek every last bit of HP out of the N/A IS300 engine. But now as I'm going the S/C route which comes with its own piggyback controller so this is surplus to requirements.
You can go and get it dyno tuned for the best results, however I'm using some conservative 'known safe' settings to lean out the fuel 5-7% across the rpm range.
Once you've got it hooked up there really is nothing more to it. Takes all of 5 mins to work your way around.
Yep that's basically the long and short of it.
From what I've heard, the IS's tend to run quite rich so you can safely lean out by about 5-7% around the middle of the RPM range (2000-5000rpm) and 1-3% elsewhere. Obviously if you have an intake/exhaust you can also make better use of those too.
Then if you want to go a step further, you could get it pro tuned - or - grab yourself a wideband with logging capabilities and then look at where you are still running rich. On the IS300 some people have been able to lean out by 12% at certain points.
I'm in no massive hurry to shift it yet. So long as its sold by the time my supercharger arrives I've no problems with keeping it aside.
It took me about 3 hours, and I'm by no means competent in auto electrics.
The hardest part is routing the wires really. You will need a metal coat hanger to help you pull them through the rubber grommit on the firewall and then make a hole in the split loom that goes into your ECU box. Then its just a matter of soldering a few wires - or using posi-taps like I did.
If you like I can take some pictures when I remove it, just so you've got something to refer to.
