One of the reasons a few of us with the chargers remove them, is because they break down and clog the exhaust? not sure if its the extra heat that does it? but a couple of guys have had them collapse after fitting the supercharger?

Mine also goes straight through the MOT with no pre-cats.

However a properly tuned manifold like the TDI Katana ones that use to be available might give you 10hp increase if your lucky.

it wont give you 10hp i had a cat back that and a camcon and made 165hp on dyno std it was 153hp
does sound nice tho
Things done :- SPC turbo kit (custom), Blueflame cat back with custom tip, B&M shortshift, grooved discs all round, Mintex pads all round, OEM wheels in white,Denso ik22s, Calipers painted black,04 spec rear lights, Tein basic coilovers, Helix organic clutch, Fan washer jets, late spec headlights (dark), Carbon bonnet, Hotchkis anti roll bars, Front arm rest, Top box from late spec.
