These are pretty expensive for what should be a pretty simple component to make, so I'm getting a batch made up at a much lower price.

[Image: ISX00_COOLING_PLATE.jpg] [Image: ISX00_COOLING_PLATE1.jpg]

They will be made from aluminium sheet in the same design as the carbon one above (unless you specify that you want the version with the big hole in it)

I've been in contact with a guy who already makes replica c-one versions (pictured in post #3) and he's modified the design to be a close match to the carbon one (basically just taking out the big hole next to the bonnet catch)

So just to explain, they will be the same material/colours as the ones below, but in the design of the one above.

His work is top notch, here's a picture of some he made before so you can see the colours. (They are also available in purple and gold)

Update 1: 12/04/11 - The modified drawing has been done, and the guy is just waiting for a final list of names. If your name is on the 'interested list' I'll be sending you a PM shortly to see who definitely wants one and get colours etc.

Update 2: 12/04/11 - He's getting a prototype cut out in my design soon, so once he's got that folded he's going to send me a picture which I'll post up on here. Cut off date for this list is going to be 26th April, after which I won't be able to accept any more names. I will then require a £20 deposit from each person who had their name on the list before the 3rd May. I will then ask for the remaining £25 plus postage costs to be paid when I've got all the panels and they are ready to post out.

Update 3: 24/05/11 - Just been sent over a picture of the panels all cut out fresh from being cut out, he said he will start soon on getting them prepped and folded and hopefully get them off to the anodizers next week. Smile

Update 4: 03/06/2011 - Panels are all now folded and prepped for anodizing and were dropped off this afternoon, but could be a week or two wait as the anodiser has a backlog from being on holiday too (seems every other bug9er is off work at the moment!) but again, I will keep you all updated on the progress. Smile

Cost: They will be £45 plus postage (see update 2 for details)

Delivery: He's pretty busy at the moment, and is on holiday the first two weeks in May, so really we're looking at delivery around the end of May.

The options for this product are:

With or without slot
Matt or bright anodising (bright pictured above)
And your chosen colour, if its not listed then just ask. As he said they do a few others such as gold or purple.

Definite List:

sprinter2012 (without slot, matt black)
jimbob150385 (wthout slot, matt blue)
DaveEdin (without slot, bright blue)
alamkhan3980 (without slot, matt black)
kevpr (without slot, bright purple)
dodgydave (without slot, bright blue)
hawk77ojc (without slot, bright black)

Blue = Paid

I would like one of these, depending on cost obviously.

Jimxls has one similar on his car, in carbon that is. It might be worth asking him if we could borrow his for a pattern

These are normally around £100 online as far as I can see, sometimes cheaper if you buy an american import. But then you have shipping and tax etc.

I found a couple of really old threads on other forums where people had done this modeled on a cusco one. (pictured below) But I don't like how it seems to have an unesecarily large cut out next to the bonnet catch. Seems sorta pointless if its got a massive hole in it as half the airflow will be lost through the gap. Huh

[Image: nengun-1425-00-c-one-engine_cooling_panel.jpg]

They were selling for about £50, but I'm sure I could improve on that. Smile

I'd be willing to loan mine out as a template if you guys need it.

From what I recall, the ones without the hole are for boosted guys, whereas the ones with the hole and the lip are for N/A guys.

Probably doesn't make any difference, but I think the logic is that the hole allows air from the lower part of the car to pass up and get directed to the intake by the lip.

EDIT: As a side note, don't get duped into buying the Mishimoto ones. They dont fit!

Your a shining example of how an OJC member should be Mr. Jimxms. I'll be sure to give you a shout if/when it is required.

I guess the same applies if you have an induction kit too then? Personally I think it would have little or no affect on the airflow, and just to make it universal I'd be inclined to omit the hole from my design.

Haha, funny you should mention them! I emailed them earlier about their design and they had the following to say..."Unfortunately, this product is actually being phased out at this time due to a couple minor fitment issues."

Which I'm surprised at having seen the pictures of theirs...they use slots that are 3 times longer than the screws that go in them...and they still don't fit! lol

Oh it goes soooo much deeper than that. "minor fitment issues" doesn't even begin to describe it.

They actually forgot to bend the aluminium. So what you get is a flat sheet of metal!

I actually bought one - idiot that I am. Didn't get a refund either :cursing:

Your joking!! The pictures on the website show them still unfolded, but I thought that was just so you could see the shape of it or something? Now I think about it, the fact that the pictures show the parts anodized but still unfolded should have triggered an alarm bell as you NEVER anodize before folding as it marks the material. Seriously though, they are taking the **** with that!

EDIT: haha, didn't realised this site has an auto censoring function.

LOL yep exactly. I had a go at bending my one, but the surface is brittle from the anodising so it just cracks.

They really took the p155 when speaking to me about it too. Asking me to take pictures of it and stuff. Like there's any way they didn't know they was selling them like that.
