surely it cant be that hard to give it to us mere 'unpaid outlaws'

The reason we dont offer the edit button to standard members is we have to stop people logging in and access our post and adding spam and porn to the forum.

Yeah but if you know how to hack a little, then having the access rights to edit your own previous posts is like a foot in the door of having the admin rights and being able to edit any post. And the mods/admin team wouldn't want that risk.

Restricting that access to paid members reduces that risk - I imagine... :whistling:

IS200 Sport - Sold
Mazda 6 MPS - Zoom Zoom!

Modifications
Completed:

Currently 280bhp/295lbft; 3" Meercat custom exhaust; KW Suspension; FMIC; SSP; HPFP; Custom Stainless Steel Dials - for the moment, the only set in the world!! (Till the group buy for MPSOC anyway  )

In Progress:

E-Tuning remap ongoing via Cobb Accessport; Braided brake lines; Stubby aerial; Tinted repeaters and sidelights; 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid; 3" HTP Intake

Well tbh this is the only site that offers this and other restrictions.
Besides we can't edit 'any' post it was only ever our own posts.
Just seems another way to get ppl to pay up.
Which I wouldn't mind doing but there isn't really any other benefits for me.
I can understand the 'not able to advertise' unless you pay.
But the rest of it (no edit button, no signature etc) I don't get

I can understand it's annoying when the facility used to be there but for ages none of us had the edit button and we all got used to it. I used to run a forum a few year ago and I don't think many people realise that it costs a fair bit of money for server facilities and annual software licences and so many add on features and all the protection necessities. Also, all the admin team must put in considerable hours of their own time to set up and maintain all this.

Yes, but Chris, if you are able to edit your own posts and know how to hack into the server, then you can edit everyone's posts, plus vB forums are very easy to hack anyway.
But yeah, only reason I paid up is so I could have my avatar/signature/larger pm box and edit button. But it seems that wasn't the case.

But majority of ppl wouldn't have a clue how to hack the server majority of the rest of us probly don't care lol.
I don't particularly care about the signature and avatar (didn't notice avatar tbh)
I can understand pm box as that takes up space, but then surely does the advert for BMW on the home page??? (german car ad on Japanese car forum????)

What's not the case Oli??? Have you been naughty again lol

Sure have mate. I understand this, but was suspended as I'm too young to be an outlaw. That's all, but it's the club's terms and conditions, and they're there for a reason.
