Removing the resonator might make the engine sound a bit throatier, but it wouldn't have thought it would improve performance.
I split my intake scoop in two and removed the strengtheners and widened the whole thing generally.
Not sure if it improved my performance, but i like to think so

I'd have a read of THIS before you start fiddling with the intake resonator...

It may sound better but you may be losing performance in doing so.

Interesting read that.

The only reason i decided to widen my intake was to help the supercharger suck in a bit more air. (I left the resonator on though, i didn't see the point in taking it off). I also filled up most of the space in the TTE air box with dense foam to funnel the air straight into the charger intake and reduce any eddies.

I'll get some pics of my intake up for you Stav, just give me a couple days.

As you can see i took out the strengthener closest to the airbox and widened the bit just after the intake because the original shape looked like a huge restriction.
I used some similar plastic from and old subaru intake i had to make up some plates and i 'welded' them in using a soldering iron.

Removing the resonator will improve the sound but not the performance.

Talisker the airbox creates the eddies for a reason. IIRC it improves low end torque where your supercharger is sapping power not adding to it.

Was Supercharged Racing Green IS200 Sport. Now APR Stage 1 Seat Leon Cupra (220 Bhp).

Well it's a good job I've got the induction kit on now then. :thumbup1:
Oh wait there's definitely no eddies there.
Maybe i should dust off the A-Level Physics books and brush up on fluid dynamics :laugh:
