Apexi Neo AFC Help
Apexi Neo AFC Help
i agree with TOxo on this take both the Positive and negative feeds from the battery for this stage to ensure everything is as it should be
you can also connect the ignition wire to the abttery as well this will allow a positive 12v source for both....
Like I said, run it straight off the battery (presumably it will work with JUST the two +ves and two -ves connected) and see what voltage it reports. If it's reporting 12v there then the wiring is the problem, if it's not then the unit is the problem.
Also, you're following the Apexi manual for the IS200, not an Altezza or an IS300 right? Because the wiring will be different colours.
Yeah, ok I shall try run it straight from the battery. Do I need to connect the possitive or negative first?
The manual I have from Apexi is an IS300, there are some wiring differances, but those wires are the same.
Also, I have tried running the unit on the other ground. White/Black, which is the car ground, as apossed to circuit ground. But the unit doesn't switch on when ignition is activated.
And also again, the AFC unit switches on as soon as the key touches the barrell. So not sure if this makes a differance? Whether the imobaliser circuit runs off a lower voltage?
My electronics knowledge is basic to say the least.
OK so lets take it back to basics
If the unit has 2 positive feeds twist these together and place on the Postive terminal you can probably wiggle it in a hole so it stays there
Do the same as above but for the negative
With a MUltimeter check the voltage the battery is out putting Red to positive Black to ground
if this is above 11.3v this is good above 12v is brilliant lol
now take the wires for the ignition side of the unit and place on the postive terminal
Does the unit power up and what voltage is it saying its got now ?
Hey Rab. just emailed him my phone number so I can talk him through it.

OK...found this.

From that link, it looks like you need to find a green/red wire on block E5, pin 9. This is the signal wire to intercept but make sure the colour is tha same as what comes off your MAP sensor. (belt and braces).

Hope you get it sorted mate, but i agree with others comments so far
