Hi all I've owned a lexus is200 for a few days and my god how expensive are theses cars to run.before this car I owned a civic type r i used to full the car up with £40 of unleaded petrol and get about 220 miles out of the type r.

Imagine my shock when I put £40 on the lexus it came upto the half a tank Mark Ive been driving around town mainly like I did with the type r with abit of putting my foot down from time to time.

The lexus has returned 90 miles and the fuel lights come on surely this cannot be right at all, 90 miles from £40 even around town.

The fuel gauge has seem to be working properly how much ate you guys getting my cars a 2001 lexus is200 sport totally standard

I fill the tank every week, cos I'm back and forward to work, at a bit over a 45 mile round trip each day, plus all the tripping about with kids at the weekends...

The IS200 has a 70 litre tank remember, cost me £84 on Friday when I filled up... But that will get me around 350+ miles till the next time the light comes on. It was up to nearly 390 for a while last year, but has come down since then.

It's a thirsty beast, the IS... Smile

Has it had a good service recently mate? I put about 60-70 quid a week in mine, and do about 300miles. That's with about half half foot down!

I spent £60 this bank holiday weekend just pottering around town. Haven't done hardly any miles at all,all stop-start between lights and the occasional foot down/red line Wink
