Bit of an update.

Well I got the number plates transferred at DVLA today. Then went to Elite to have one new tyre to match the brand new spare I had. turns out the brand new spare had a hole in it...shocking that seen as the tyre had never seen the road. Anyway, with no choice I bought 2 new tyres so there goes the springs fund.

Washed and polished and quick detailed the car. That's it for now. I know my celica looks sorry for herself, only washed her last week. Hope she sells soon. Sad

before.

BTW hope i'm not spamming the site. LOL just really happy to own a car i'm proud of again. Big Grin

cheers Spikes and Toxo.

The N111 NOY is my Ghanaian name which is 'Nii Noi' - Nii being a title for my family line and Noi as in the first grandson. My christian name is Jason, hence 'Jay'. I will do the horn mod at the weekend.

I have been going to Elite for years since around 2003 and recently the service has just deteriorated. They broke my friend's D1 ultralite wheel nuts when we explicitly said HAND TOOLS ONLY and 70lbs torque. The moron still managed to snap it WITHOUT and torque wrench. The reluctantly replaced ONE nut and refused to repair the damage caused to the wheel. Yesterday they put me into a corner to buy 2 new tyres. I will NEVER go there again.

Have a good day peeps.

Woo hoo. great news today...no the filter is not here yet, but got an email from Green Light for insurance, With 12 years NCB, no points (6 came off recently), proposed mods etc £428 comprehensive with £250 compulsory excess. Need to find out how much to protect the NCB though.

Have a good weekend though. Just got a pt job for the weekends so doubt i'll be able to do the horn mod but we shall see what my free time brings.

Hello all. Day off today, and not even the threat of rain could keep me away from having a faffing session.

First of all, my 'flatter' Blitz style air filter has not beem delivered yet, and neither has my oil catch can so more faffing to do.

Nevertheless, the OEM air box was out, and I removed the IAT sensor with the bung. OMFG the rocker cover is awful, so rather than trying to clean it in-situ, I will take it off, clean and repaint gloss black.

Next, I extended the IAT sensor wires just under a foot, and reset the ECU. With the lack of a smaller filter, I have had to install the filter across the engine bay. This is hopefully temporary as I am not a big fan of long intakes, and all I hear is a brief high pitched sucking noise on load, and a roar at high revs. We will see what the proper filter brings.

Here are the disappointing pics.

Hopefully my catch tank turns up this weekend, but with my wee sister coming to visit, the most I will do is wash her at 7am Saturday before work, and faff when I get the time in the week or at the weekend.

Cheers mate. Just not tidy enough but I guess the 'function over fashion' rule comes into play here. Smile
