From what I've heard you can contest the on the spot fine and take it through the court but obviously if you do this and lose then the penalty would probably be a lot higher.

Undertaking in the U.S.A is legal, and as everyone is aware of it there's no problem.

What's the evidence to back up the on the spot fine? A camera/video?

How? video proof is not going to be manufactured to suit the crime. Drive within the guidelines of the law and your OK, drive like an idiot and you deserve to be fined.

Undertaking is legal in the USA because they have massive roads and interstates are regularly several lanes wide. You can also turn right on a red light - that took me a while to get the hang off.

But show your average American a roundabout and they suddenly can't work out what to do!!!!

they will play the video back so you can see your error, if you still think you are innocent then yes contest away, normally once you see your error on video you know your guilty - the video does not lie.

I like this idea because minor offences can be dealt with by the road side, not dragging it through the courts. Courts = points, on the spot fine = a small fine no points.

2tongues on the spot fine = a small fine no points.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this new system allows them to give you a fine and points, not just a fine. To be honest if it was just a fine I wouldn't be that bothered :tongue_smilie:

Didn't see the points bit lol. But still if your guilty, your guilty and they will have the evidence to prove it.
