Right then......need help
Me and the misses are buying a house together, depending on how quickly her flat gets sold probably by September / October
Which means the lexus has to go as i cant afford a mortgage, plus car finance, and my insurance hike coming my way.
So my question is, I own a base spec IS220D, will i be just as happy in an IS200/IS300??
I'll have saved up about £2k by the time i need to get rid of lexy (dont ask, misses named it) im guessing insurance wont me to bad,
what should i look out for? any common problems? will it be reliable enough i can just give annual service and not worry about it?
cheers guys
Yeah I think you might be, obviously you'll miss a few toys like keyless entry and soundproofing etc may be a bit different but overall I think it will be fine. Only issue is fuel economy, but if that's not a problem then you'll be ok.
The IS is reliable, had mine about 9 years now and other than the recent problem I had with warped hubs it's been completely trouble free, just annual servicing and that's it.
Only one way to find out though, go out and try some!
true, i dont drive more than 50 miles a week so fuel isnt an issue, infact ill probably get better economy and pay less for the fuel, so its a winner.
Should i try and get as much car for my money as possible? i.e one with sat nav etc,
i can do without the keyless entry i guess, wouldnt mind xenons though
i currently dont have leather seats, or heated seats, or electric seats, so thats a bonus i guess
Don't bother with the base spec, go for an SE or Sport (Sport is manual only, SE comes auto or manual). Xenons were only on the IS300 and the IS200 LE, but fitting an aftermarket HID kit is no big deal really.
Again full leather is only on the IS300, or on the IS200 from 2004 onwards. But yeah depending on your budget you may as well go for the best one you can get - spec wise the only option was satnav so that's the only thing to look out for.
oh okay cool, just looking now and can get ones with 80k on the clock for just over £2k, need to go drive one though i guess, which is always fun swapping from a diesel to a petrol haha
Carpediem Should i try and get as much car for my money as possible? i.e one with sat nav etc,

Lol I'm sorry, can't stop myself ... no ya numptie .. get as little as possible and pay double... methinks you had a blonde moment with that q honey lol :p :p :p [/COLOR]
Cool, prob best focussing on the 300 unless you particularly want a manual as you might find the 200 quite slow, especially with the torque I imagine the diesel has.
