toxo That sounds a bit high for a 3S-GE (maybe the BEAMS one) but you're right they are a **** sight higher than the 3S-GTE, as you would expect.

toxo Me neither. Marcus said he'd read the compression ratio on a 3S-GE was 11:1. He didn't say WHICH 3S-GE :p

yea i just seen somewhere that the 1995 rev 3 has a 2.0 I GT- 16 T-bar, and the com for that 3S-GE is 11.0.1 so not the best engine to put a turbo on, but we will see, ill have some pic,s for you guys on sunday, been out with the army today, and did not get back till late
thats a rare engine to find....what i mean is find one with that engine in...two come into us a purple one and a black one....father and son own them...
ok guys i have had a good look on the net and it looks like i got a Rev 3 the engine is 3S-GE and the power output for this one is 180 PS (132 KW) and that works out round about 177 BHP and the com for the engine is 10.3:1 where the turbo one is 8.5:1 so i could turbo it but would have to keep the boost down, and just turn up a bit at a time and see how it go's
why not just buy a smashed turbo and swap over all the bits??that way you can play with the engine out the turbo while your cars still on the road??also youll have all the loom ecu etc..

Super rare indeed, limited production run and only in Japan. They did stick that engine in some of the SS MK6 Celicas too.
I tried to buy one last year but someone got there before me
Anyhow, back on topic. It'd be *way* easier just to swap a turbo engine in. The results of turbocharging 3S-GE's from that era have never ended well.
That does look rev 5 Phil. Just by the looks of the spoiler. Unless that's an aftermarket one?
