Depends what your comparing it to. A properly tuned 3sgte will spank the v6 every time.

Think about it this way. If you turbo a 3s-ge, you're looking at getting hold of a turbo itself (and you'd be mad to use a CT turbo because they're naff), custom exhaust manifold (a 3s-gte one won't fit) custom oil lines (the 3s-ge block doesn't have the oil feed or drain points on it), custom downpipe (you won't be able to use a 3s-gte one because your turbo won't be a CT series one). The amount that will cost will be crazy when there is an off-the-shelf turboed engine that drops right in.

Then you'll only be able to run ~4psi without lowering the compression ratio and retarding the ignition. You can do that by fitting a thicker head gasket - rods and pistons from a -gte won't fit. That will make it virtually undriveable on the stock ECU off boost, on boost you'll be able to run about 6psi and net maybe 210-220bhp which is still less than the rev1 turbo engine, and you'll have lost all your torque from the compression change.

I respect that you wanna do something different but you really will be shooting yourself in the foot!
