Hi guys,

As some of you will probably know from the problems i've had with mine being vandalised my bodywork isn't in the greatest shape, i'm planning on getting a respray and instead of having odd panels done and not having a true match i'm thinking a full respray is the way to go.

I have some colours in mind but does anyone have any recommendations on places/people to go to or ideas on a rough cost?

Dan if your planning on changing your colour then you are talking big money for a good job maybe £2500 You can of course get the car done the same colour as it is and have a nice finish for between £750 - £1500
I would go by recommendation of someone local maybe some one your main dealer uses.
I have a good garage here in Essex that very good, let me know if yu want there details.

Good hunting

hmm well I was hoping for a colour change in Subaru WR1 blue but can't see it making economical sense in spending 2-3k on a spray if i'm not going to keep the car for ever and as that's nearly the value of the car lol.

£750 is a decent price for respray in the same colour

Will you be having the engine bay sprayed too Dan if you change the colour? i always think it looks odd having a different colour engine bay?

You could always have it black again but with a pearl or a different colour metallic flake added to the paint? Big Grin

If I get a colour change then yeah it will be a engine bay spray too, but if I get a colour change this will be under the presumption that there will be a big lump going into the engine bay also Big Grin

The main reason for the want of a colour change is the black is just a nightmare to keep free of watermarks/hair line scratches etc etc etc as i'm sure you are aware :p If I don't get a full spray then it's going to be a touch up on the roof and then drivers door/rear os door and rear os quarter resprays

Its a shame Dan your had some bad luck with this car.

Black is a great colour when clean though.

Add the cost of the spraying and the mods you may be better in starting again with another car with a good body work and the power already there.

my theory exactly Ian Sad it all depends on how much I want to keep the Lex and do something crazy with it but unfortunately I'm unable to afford to cars so can't really have 1 off the road whilst having extensive work done.

as much as it pains me i've been looking at semi-sensible saloons/cpupes with good power as standard mainly the Vauxhall VXR8 (and get a wortec charger) or BMW e46 M3's
