My current wheel is looking shinier than Dale Wintons forehead on a summers day.
Hmmmmm. Been looking at the evo range of momo steering wheels. I likey (not particulary the prices, but the looks) was wondering if any of you have replaced your steering wheels with aftermarkets, which ones, and how you dealt with the airbag warning light (assuming when changing the steering wheel you took the airbag off with it).
My current wheel is looking shinier than Dale Wintons forehead on a summers day.

But you get a resister box to remove the airbag light with most boss kits.

But you get a resister box to remove the airbag light with most boss kits.

That's a nice wheel, and I've always liked the Momo Millennium. Though I've never had the balls to remove an airbag in a car. As no matter how slight the chance, it is there the save your life, and I've feel a right diff if when it need to save my life it was in my shed. I have removed one when fitting buckets and 4 proper harnesses, but to do that in an IS200 would involve removing more airbags!
As for the warning light, you can just remove the bulb. But I think in the IS there is a chance that it might disable what airbags you have left? So BAD idea. A resister can be easily wired in to fool the ECU in to seeing the airbag still. I expect Stav or Rabs or one of the other sparky minded guys can tell you specific details of the resister and fitting.

To remove the shine, all you have to do is clean the wheel - it is dirt and grease that makes it shiny, remove that and then the leather will return to its former glory.

Thanks guys. Always thought it was the leather wearing to a shine, not grease and grime. I got some leather cleaner when I bought my sofa a few years back, and i know that returns the sofa to a Matt finish when used, so will try it on te ar too iffy. Don't know why I didn't think I it earlier.
