Gord Looks a nice clean one there Bob  i also came back to lexus after having some other cars along the way, now driving is300 also

She is very clean but the bonnet needs painting, and I'm told Platinum Ice is as bad a colour as it gets to match up Confusedad:

Welcome Bob. I too am on my 2nd IS, returning to these forums after a period of absence. Also a life long Toyota enthusiast, having wanted a Celica since I was old enough to pronounce it, I got my first one at 19 and am living proof that once you go Jap, you never go back! (The Land Rover and Peugeot on my drive my say otherwise, but ignore that!)

Many on this club are into modifying their cars, sometimes heavily, as I expect you noticed, as this goes hand in hand with the Jap car culture. Though I think we can all also appreciate the appeal of having a factory standard vehicle in mint condition, especially when the vehicle in question is such a fine one to begin with. Let's be honest, the main reason we all charge our 200s is to get the sort of power your standard 300 was originally build with!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Hello Stoney, The Celica has been a major part of my life for many years, i've been a long standing member on the Celica-club and was a moderator for a while, i ran the 1-3 generation section , having owned two generation one TA22's ST and GT, then 2nd generation XT hatch and ST Coupe.
The 3rd generation 2.0 XThatch and three 2.8 Celica-Supra's, then the generation 4 2.0 GT, both auto and manual models .
Once you've owned Toyota, you're hooked for life Smile

Nice.

My dad had a brand new Celica in the mid 70s, and from then on had a new model every 3 or so years, always giving his "old" one to my Mum. So they each owned every generation (never had a 5th gen, as had three 4th gens followed by an early a 6th gen) Then mother went Previa and Father went Jag. I remember them having the dealer fit a central rear lap belt in them, as there were three of us kids! I had the 5th gen they never did, and quickly moved onto a 6th gen that I ran for over 4 years (a long time for a young driver!) before getting my first Lexus.

I think something was implanted deep in my subconscious, growing up with two Celicas on the drive, what did they think would happen?

I did have a Gen6 for a while, it was the AT200, the 1.8SR in Silver, nice car but a bit under powered.
And more recently i was looking for a Gen 5 Auto but gave up the hunt ,as all the ones up for sale in Jan this year were too far gone or to far away, hence a chance in direction and bought my IS300 Auto.
I feel the celica chapter in my life is now passed and its luxury transport from now on .
