Although the Civic had a service 1000 miles before we bought it I want to know if anyone recommends any filters I should be using or ones to avoid for the next service? I used the filters from Opie Oils last time I serviced our cars so might stick with them if they're good ones.

Also what about Jap spares like brakes, pads, suspension arms, shocks, bushes etc...any suggestions on where to buy those and again any brands to avoid? Any good ebay sellers I could use?

The front brakes need replacing as the discs were an advisory on the last MOT so they'll be the first job I do.

I can't recommend blueprint, I've had distributor caps from them that have lasted less than 2000 miles and a thermostat that never opened.

My cheap camskill brake discs wore unevenly and destroyed 2 sets of pads...

I would buy genuine filters, some Toyota filters have non return valves in them to prevent oil drain, and not all aftermarket ones replicate this!

Cheers mate will avoid them then.

Yes I think I will go OEM for filters or those that have been made to the same standard. I think the Opie Oil ones are though.

The air filters seem really expensive so might look at getting a replacement K&N panel filter.

I don't use Honda for servicing our Civic as their labour rates don't seem to be that far off from what Lexus like charging.

The garage I use fit genuine Honda parts anyway so I would stick with those IMO.
