Large Item Collection/Shipping from the US
Large Item Collection/Shipping from the US
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone on here can help with arranging the shipping or collection of a large item from the US?
I need to arrange the shipping of a item that is
77"x21"x18" and weighs around 14lbs.
Seller can't arrange shipping but I am welcome to arrange my own.
Tried Parcel2go etc and DHL/Fedex and either the prices are ridiculous or the dimensions are too big!
Any ideas???
Thanks
Anees
Anees your problem is the paperwork that needs to be done now to export from the USA to UK
That is why you see such high postal costs from the States.
Each movement requires a EAD customs form to be completed that needs completeing before the item is moved and it that what is going to be your main issue.
Normally a agent needs to do this.
All the companies I know off would not have a problem with size but it is the price that hurts.
DHL Although being a bit expensive will get your items through customs for you.
I've found USPS to be by far the cheapest courier from USA to UK. Literally half the price or lower than UPS or Fedex. I'd go straight to their website and book it, rather than using an intermediate company.
It'll arrive in the UK with Parcelforce and be forwarded on by them so they'll take you for at least £18 even if the value of the parcel is £0. But its not too bad.

They are a freight forwarder and can send it by sea to get costs down. You will need to get your buyer to post it to one of their agents US side and the will crate and ship it down to their depot here in avonmouth.I can then forward it to you through work.
