Dark Samurai Ah how did you do it?
You need to cut the power to the steering sensor, which in turn forces the Skid Control ECU to disable VSC (as it has no idea if you're going straight or turning).
I put a switch inbetween the sliced wire so I could turn it off/on at will. Only thing is when you enable/disable it, you have to turn the car off before it'll reset.
toxo That sounds fun. You just cut power to the TRC ECU?
Unfortunately that also encompass ABS, which gets disabled if you pull the fuse for the TRC box

06-06-2018, 11:51 AM #25so what you got that does that then as my car had a 'problem' with my scangauge and it disabled both the trc and vsc and occasionally the abs too, i didnt mind but it also gave me a chassis code fault on the SG and the car would go into limp mode, so reset it all and the car went back to its original settings,

Doesn't appear to. I looked over the car wiring diagrams and it doesn't seem to be connected to anything apart from the Skid ECU from what I could tell. Also drives 100% normal when I took it out this evening :thumbup:
Could do a 'track mode' button with ABS disabled :p

Actually I'm coming from the MR2 which has electric PS, so it uses the steering wheel position sensor to work out when to turn the power steering on and off. You wouldn't need to worry about that

jimxms I took the car out for a drive in the rain tonight with it disabled and oh boy do I need to go do some advanced driving courses. Rear end was all over the place at roundabouts and snaking about when giving it some beans on straights.
You will find that, if you are not used to BIG power RWD in the wet. First car I had capable of that kinda spontaneous drifting shenanigans was an MR2 Turbo, pushing just over 300bhp, and it's a steep (and slippery) learning curve!
Great idea that button though. I had wandered what you were sourcing that button for!

I'm still toying with buying a Racelogic traction control unit, so disabling all of the OEM traction control stuff is kind of like the first step of the install. We shall see...
Yeah the heated seats buttons are a perfect fit in there. I wish I could have used a TRC one, but as they are only momentary it doesn't do the job.
