A shame, an interesting lady.

I still remember where I was, what I was wearing and the person I was with when Freddy Mercury died, for some reason I can't see the same happening with Amy.

"Life's goal is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body. But, rather to skid in sideways........
totally worn out and broken, shouting 'Holy ****, WHAT A RIDE!'"

She was a waste of space, to act the way she did, with people looking up at her as a role model?

Drugs are illegal, its about time Alcohol is made illegal.

Although I agree with what your saying. Unfortunately it's a huge part of life that once involved with rarely has a happy ending.
But I disagree about making alcohol illegal just because a lot of ppl don't know when to stop. But there are other things that are destructive even tho it may take longer to do damage like smoking for instance but that's not illegal.
Gambling although not physically damaging how many ppl commit suicide due to losing everything???
Racing also kills so is that also to be banished???

Not trying to cause a debate or argument.
But it's a shame when ppl go too far and can't turn back.
RIP Amy.

reidy Absolutely agree

I think regardless of what is banned and what isn't, what is illegal or legal, you will never be able to save everybody from themselves. We can only speculate as to why she has passed away. Such a sad loss regardless of the cause.

Like so many, I am saddened by this waste of a talented life. I didnt like all of her music but she brought something back to the industry that had been lacking.

All talk of banning substances is futile, drugs being illegal didnt stop her or millions of others.

The tragedy imho is that everyone will go through loss or worry or pressures that will try to and in some cases succeed in breaking you. Many many people have to go through far worse than she and other famous people endure every single day.. and they don't put themselves in the firing line for these pressures and they don't have the resources the rich and famous have to help get through it.

Life is short enough and for most people it will have a LOT of tough times .. at the end of the day a big factor in your survival or destruction is yourself .. you choose to drink, smoke, wallow in pity or whatever your mechanism is .. and it's you that has to find the strength to say ok, enough.. now i fix myself or get help to fix it ... it's not about blame, it's about responsibility

Bit of a shame but let's be honest she brought it on herself most likely.

What I don't much like is that it'll probably get more news coverage than the victims of the bombing in norway..

Things like alcohol and cigarettes probably would be more rigidly controlled today if they were newly discovered, but they've been around an age and so are a part of the overall culture, as a result those can never be banned totally. Besides the government makes too much money taxing it!

We're all responsible for our own actions in the end. Some deal better than others. It's a shame her life has been wasted yeah, but she's the one who wasted it.

She was a musical talent and had a big following, she lived life to the full with drink and drugs, which to me is all wrong, either way a life stuffed out at 27, is no life at all.
She now joins the 27 club in the sky.
