Pushing it a bit!
Pushing it a bit!
My Mum decided to get rid of her Y reg Yaris SR as she doesn't use it anymore, so her and my step dad went on webuyanycar's website and got told it was worth about £1100 declaring the fact that it was in a sh*t state but mechanically sound (she has no respect for it) , so her and my step dad took it in and they were offered £81 for it
They challenged the salesman and got just over £500 for it, which is what I personally feel it was worth
I know they get commission for knocking people down on price but **** me, £81 from an original offer of £1100 is pushing it a bit! lol
They gave me exactly what the web site said for my car which was substantially better then a private sale offer and Toyota's trade in offer. So I doubt their commission is based on knocking down the price, rather the "handling" fee every car is charged with.
The depot that took mine in had done 7 sales that day with 3 more waiting, all at between £50 and £75 - thats a potential of £750 in a day not bad for a SELF EMPLOYED rep, with a small office to rent.
They give excellent prices for "in demand" cars because they are easy to move on, and rubbish prices for not wanted cars, or executive cars without all the options ticked (a 5 series without Leather for example).
As a business model it works very well, so well they are about to launch in the USA.
I got offered £3350 for mine but by the time they'd gone over it and seen all the problems I took £2900 less there fees.
Not bad for a car I had over £5500 in only 4months previous.
private sale mate...give it a buff/polish up here those yaris's see a min of £1500
